Choosing the perfect Garden Wind Chime
Making your yard better with some wind chimes is a common thing to do. The elegant sound of a well tunes garden wind chime can transform how you feel about your own back yard space. However many people are not sure how to proceed when they are standing at the garden center looking at wind chimes.
There are many kind of chimes made from an infinite amount of different materials. The sounds will vary depending on which style and material you decide to choose.
Things to consider when buying a wind chime for your garden.
- You have to take into accoiunt the size and shape of your yard. In a smaller yard you really have to be concerned about what your neighbours think of the noise. Some people find the chimes very distracting and don't really care for them. So before you go and get a wind chime remember that a larger wind chime has a deeper sound that carries longer then the higher sounds made from a smaller, shorter chime.
- The materials you choose will also affect the sound greatly. The metals and alloys are going to sound a lot more like a bell and have a ring that can carry for a greater distance then a hollow more natural sounding bamboo wind chimes. Either way the choice is yours and personal preference is the key.
- Before going to the garden center to buy a wind chime find a spot in your yard where you want to hang it first. Once you have choosen a spot you will be able to find a wind chime for that spot much easier. When standing in line at the garden center you can picture that spot in your mind and see which wind chime “fits”. This is such a wonderful way to fill that spot.
- Be considerate of how the wind blows through your yard. There are going to be area with more wind and some with less. In order to get a large wind chime moving you will need to have a stronger wind then a smaller windchime. Even though the spot in your mind is perfect for that large, deep sounding chime but if it is in a sheltered spot then the chime might be silenced and that would be a shame.
The main thing about choosing a new wind chime is to visualize the spot wheree is fit and make sure the wind is going to be regluar enough so you can actually enjoy the perfect tones it makes.
